Pisces Inc. Introduces the FR-75 Filleting Machine

The FR-75 is a filleting machine design to work with head off previously gutted fish. The machine is based on the same technology as Pisces Inc.’s extremely successful FR-200.The FR-75 utilizes the same drive, backbone and rib removal systems as the FR-200 but does not have evisceration capabilities and so provides a lower cost option for smaller processors to fillet already gutted fish. The FR-75 retains the same versatility of size and species handling capabilities as the FR-200.

Pisces Inc. Announces Two New Updates
to the DS-150/DS-300 Drum Scaler

1. Removable Scaling Panels
The Engineers at Pisces have designed the scaling panels to be removed for cleaning. The panels were previously welded into place. This lead to a built up of scales between the panels and the drum frame. The problem was noted by several of Pisces customers and in accordance with our long standing policy of incorporating customer feed back in our designs, the panels were changed. Pisces has made this update compatible with older scalers. The new drum is simply exchanged for the old one and works with the existing frame and motor.

2. Automatic Drum Positioning for Loading and Unloading
Pisces’s engineers have designed a method that enables the drum to return to a load or unload position with the touch of a button. The cycle time between loads is greatly reduced as the need to manually jog the drum into the desired position is eliminated. The drum is positioned using sensors and a PLC controller. The operator simply pushes a button and the drum returns to the desired location. This upgrade can be retrofitted by Pisces’s technicians to any existing DS-150 or DS-300 Drum Scaler.

Pneumatic Rib Finger Operation

The engineers at Pisces have developed a pneumatic system that replaces the spring loaded system controlling the Rib Fingers of the FR-9000.
It works extraordinarily well, removing the white meat from the salmon and obviating the trimmers role in the process. This will be incorporated into every new FR-9000 MKII machine. This new option allows for the easy production of both C and D trim fillets.

Upgrade Kit for FR-9000 MK I and II
The kit consists of a waterproof box mounted atop the FR 9000 positioned above the touch screen panel. This box houses 4 SMC gauges and is clearly labeled Finger Pressure 1, 2, 3 and 4. Each gauge has an independent dial (Mounted on the side of the box: two on one side , two on the other) to fine tune the pressure supplied to each finger through air lines attached to a mounting adjacent to the Rib fingers. The effect is an improved ability to remove, with great precision, the white meat.
